Information Provided by Entity first requires a great culture, here's why..

"IPE forms the backbone of Financial Reporting, the how to the what."

Information Provided by Entity (IPE) is the process that backs up Financial Reporting. By proving how a report was run and validating the results, completeness and accuracy can be addressed.

Reports Complete and Accurate?

We are facing more and more pressure from AI and new technologies that are altering our sense of reality. From fake images, AI written copy and altered content - all can be mistaken for the truth.
For those of us in Security, Compliance and Audit, truth has never been more paramount than now, as technology continues to create alternative 'realities'. IPE is designed to support Financial Reporting and provide the truth behind the numbers, how did we get to these figures? If data is becoming easier to manipulate, IPE becomes more critical to safeguarding the truth.

Culture is a key component to the IPE process, and to ensuring the ongoing success of the completeness and accuracy of all outputs. Where does culture play a role, and how can it be used to improve the effectiveness of IPE?

* Getting lines of business to understand how their technology plays a vital role in contributing to Financial Reporting.

* Bringing managers and subject matter experts in these lines of business into the periodic reviews.

* Training end users on the importance of IPE and how they can help the organization by identifying any process, report or extract of data could be in-scope for Financial Reporting.

* Rewarding users for their efforts and input that results in a new process or report that comes in-scope for IPE.

The last point is particularly important as the process of rewarding team members for their work in identifying new in-scope reports, will increase the effectiveness of IPE and therefore Financial Reporting. Often times rewards (bonuses) are granted on the performance of the company, can this also be tied to the performance of IPE? The two are intrinsically linked anyway..

A culture that rewards team members for their efforts in IPE means there is less chance of fake data or altered results.
